Paws, claws and whiskers  

This half term, we’re going to discover all about animals and their habitats. We will look at animals living as pets, on the farm, in the jungle, under the sea and in the air. We’ll spot similarities and differences between animals, look at different habitats around the world and investigate camouflage.   

Supporting your child at home:

Talk to your child at home about different animals. Visit a local park or farm and name the animals you see with your child. Watch wildlife programmes and discuss children’s favourite animals with them. Talk about where they may live.

Marvellous Machines (Transport)

This half term we are going to learn about different modes of transport including cars, trains, boats, airplanes, and rockets. We’ll learn about the features of transport and how they move as well using a range of vocabulary to describe them. We’ll read a range of books including fiction and non-fiction relating to the different modes of transport. Our key text is going to be We All go Travelling By Sheena Roberts.

Supporting your child at home:

Talk about different types of transport you see on your way to school or in the neighbourhood. Try to travel on different types of transport. Take photos and make a transport scrapbook with your child. Read the key text at home with your child.
