Ancient Civilisations
In the Ancient Civilisations project, your child will learn about one of the earliest civilisations in the world: The Ancient Sumer. They will study the ancient Sumerian civilisation in detail, to discover how crucial factors like water sources and farming helped them to develop and thrive. Throughout the project, they will find out about important inventions and the growth of cities. In order to make comparisons between this ancient civilisation and current day, pupils will also study the lives of different people in society, including the roles of kings. Towards the end of the topic, they will explore the causes and consequences of the civilisation’s decline and consider whether or not the ancient Sumers left a lasting legacy.
