During the first half of the Spring term, Year 1 will continue with the Recovery Curriculum to ensure reading and essential basic skills are fully embedded. This means that the children will be receiving extra support in basic skills, phonics, reading, handwriting and writing. There will be English and Maths lessons daily alongside two Phonics lessons a day, two Guided Reading lessons a day, and Reading for Pleasure every day. The handwriting lessons will include the sounds we have been learning to link everything together. They will continue to receive PSHE, as well as music, computing, PE and RE.
