Here is a fantastic resource from the Derbyshire Education Trust, it is full of activities, ideas and resources for continuing music learning from home – for all ages and stages of education!

 

Choose the correct link below and do the first seven activities, don't forget to take some pictures and send them to your child's teacher.

 

If your child is aged between 4 and 7 there are some great ideas in the link below:

If you don't have an instrument at home...

  1. Use body percussion eg. clap, click, tap your chest, stamp.
  2. Make an instrument out of household items eg. plastic bottle filled with dried rice/beans to make a shaker. Follow this link for more DIY instrument ideas: https://www.activityvillage.co.uk/musical-instruments
  3. Download free instrumental apps eg. 'Virtuoso piano' or 'Easy xylophone' on the Apple store.

  4. KS2 - Consider buying a recorder or ukulele:
